The Last Days of Mourning
On December 17th 1998, at the Middlesex Hospital in London, Tim completed treatment for a cancer that had first appeared in his right thigh before spreading to his lungs and liver.
Surgery, chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, a course of radiotherapy for a relapse that took place 6 days into his first remission; these were the interludes that punctuated long periods fighting infections in hospital with a minimal immune system.
On December 17th 2003, Tim completed The Last Days of Mourning at Euroart Studios Gallery in London. Over the preceding 5 days, 1825 memories of the time when he was ill had been written on the walls of the space.
